March 9th the racing action at Tucson International Raceway featured the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.   30 of  the fastest Sprint cars in the world  timed  in on the super smooth and blazing fast  3/8ths mile  Super Speedway. The track record was smashed many times with Paul Mc Mahan lowering  it to a new standard of 12.074 from the previous mark of 12.624.  19 competitors  bested  the previous mark. The 30 lap A main event top 5 finishers were #1 Daryn Pittman,#2 Joey Saldana,#3 Brian Brown,#4 Paul McMahan,#5 Tim Kaeding.

The USRA  X Mods featured a field of  23 cars.  Jake  O’neil in the Gob’s towing #3G worked his way to the lead and looked to be a sure winner until he succumbed to a flat tire and relinquished the lead to  Christy Georges in the #44 Barnett Harley Davidson machine.  Christy battled to the finish with her husband Sherman Barnett in the Barnett Harley Davidson #82  with  young hard charging Brandon Farrington in the #5o ready to pounce if any mistakes were made by the two leaders. Rounding out the top 5 was Alex Gonzalez in the #20A  &  after returning to the track after repairs & charging from the back of the pack the 3G  of Jake O’neil.  The  X Mods return  to do battle on March 23rd  with the CDM Super Latemodels, USRA  A Mods, Factory Stocks & Hornets.
